Professorship in Design Theory and History

From winter semester 2014/2015, Dr. Klaus Klemp, Deputy Director and curator for design at Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt /Main will take up his appaointment at the HfG Offenbach as Professor of Theory of Design and History of Design.
Klaus Klemp will join Product Design, where he will succeed Bernhard E. Bürdek, who worked in the Department for many years. Born 1954 in Dortmund designer and art historian Klaus Klemp was from 1989 in charge of culture in Frankfurt's Department for Science and Art and director of the Städtische Galerie in the Karmeliterkloster, in which he realized countless exhibitions on product and graphic design in the 1990s. . From 2006 he was Exhibition Director and from 2013 Deputy Director of the Museum Angewandte Kunst. Here he was responsible, amongst other things for exhibitions on German design legend Dieter Rams, Korean and Japanese design or Russian avant-garde and the design of "Neue Frankfurt".
Klaus Klemp also brings to his post many years of teaching experience. From 1998 he was lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremberg, at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg.
