Accessibility declaration

This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website of the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach published at https://www.hfg-offenbach.de.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we endeavor to make our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Hessian Disability Equality Act (HessBGG) and the Hessian Ordinance on Barrier-free Information Technology (BITV HE 2019) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The accessibility requirements are set out in Section 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of the BITV HE 2019, which was issued on the basis of Section 14 of the HessBGG.

The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a simplified review of the website of the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main by the Landeskompetenzzentrum für Barrierefreie IT Durchsetzungs- und Überwachungsstelle.

Based on the review, the website is not compliant with the aforementioned requirements.

Non-accessible content

The website was launched in 2015, at a time when there were no laws or regulations for digital products. The global WCAG guidelines did not yet exist either.

The content listed below is not accessible:

  • There is a lack of ability to integrate alternative text for controls, graphics and objects, as well as alt attributes for layout graphics
  • No HTML structural elements can be integrated for headings and lists
  • The text contrasts are insufficient in the assigned CI/CD
  • Areas cannot be skipped
  • No meaningful link texts can be generated

Planned measures

The following measures to achieve accessibility are planned in the short and medium term

  • Implementation of a tool to remove barriers on the old website by the end of 2025
  • Relaunch by early 2027: Implementation of a new website that complies with all accessibility requirements, guidelines and laws
