Trip to the USA - making new contacts and holding discussions

From 17 to 27 September, 2014, Prof. Peter Eckart, Prof. Dr. Markus Holzbach and Prof. Werner Lorke visited universities and research institutes on the East and West coast of the USA as part of a fact-fiinding mission. The aim: talks with those responsible for teaching and R&D about possible joint projects and student exchange with the Product Design Department at HfG.

The first visits were to the University of Washington, the Microsoft Campus and the famous design office ARTEFACTin Seattle. The journey continued with talks in the MIT Medialab (Boson), the WYSS Institute (Harvard/Cambridge)and the Parsons New School (New York CIty). Amongst other things it was decided to have joint workshops at the Mediated Matter Research Group of MIT and the School of Constructed Environemnts & Product Design (Parsons) for 2015.
