Prof. Klaus Hesse, together with Prof. Huang Jun, staged an identity workshop for students at the GXNU School of Design in Guilin for a 2030 World Cup in China. On account of Chinese teams’ average performance and the corruption encountered there as well, football unfortunately has a somewhat battered image among fans in the country. Regardless of this a Chinese bid is, however, imperative. Football has lots of enthusiastic supporters in China, and alongside basketball is the major sport in the Chinese media. A successful bid could set lots in motion, both in terms of sport and socially. The workshop made an initial mark.
