Workshop »From waste to wonder«

Focusing on the use of ceramic raw materials alongside waste resources, Antonella Fiumara will offer a workshop aimed at making ceramic material exploration more accessible to practitioners in the field.

Throughout this intensive workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of glazes and ceramic materials. We will analyze empirical tests and explore how you can develop your own line of experiments—both through methodical approaches and less traditional ones.

»During the residency program, my goal is to explore the aesthetics and narratives that discarded objects can embody when brought together into larger sculptural forms. I see everyday objects as clues to understanding society’s rules and codes, especially when we find ourselves in unfamiliar places. Like words, objects carry their own intrinsic meanings, and by collecting and combining them, I aim to blur these meanings and open space for new interpretations to emerge.«
