Darren Bader (b. 1978) is an American artist living and working in New York. He received his BFA from New York University in 2000. Bader’s works fall into a number of broad groupings, including word works, pairings, »impossible« sculpture, trash sculpture, and collaborative installation, often exploring the interconnectedness of seemingly disparate objects through complex (re-)arrangements, surprise juxtapositions, and absurd associations.

Solo presentations include: Whitney Museum of American Art; Sadie Coles HQ, London; Blum & Poe, Los Angeles; Galleria Franco Noero, Turin; Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York; Museo Madre, Naples; Kölnischer Kunstverein; MoMA PS1, New York. Group exhibitions include: Mudam; Biennale di Venezia #58; Hammer Museum; Power Station; Kunsthalle Wien; Serralves; Palais de Tokyo; PS1; MoCA. He is the recipient of the 2013 Calder Prize.

The Bildhauerei department is taking the opportunity to invite artists and curators to present lectures via video conference. It is fortunate for us to have them speak, due to their usually busy schedules, and so we recommend making a small amount of online research and looking into the speakers work beforehand. The lectures and Q&A take place on Mondays evenings from 19hr-21hr.
