Prof. Adrian Nießler has been President of the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG) since 1 October 2026.

Career

Adrian Nießler (born in Göttingen in 1978) lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. He studied at the Offenbach University of Art and Design. In 2006, he founded Studio Pixelgarten with Catrin Altenbrandt, which operates at the intersection of communication and interaction. The studio develops exhibitions, digital and analogue media, and visual identities for NGOs, companies and institutions, with the aim of making complex topics accessible and tangible.

At the start of the 2020 summer term, Adrian Nießler was appointed, together with Catrin Altenbrandt, to the Chair of Communication Design in the Faculty of Art; from 2024, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Art. In July 2026, the university’s extended senate elected him as President.
