Professor (salary grade W2) for the field of teaching Performance in the Expanded Field
initially for a limited period of six years.

The candidate should be a nationally and internationally renowned figure, who is open to debate, engages in cross-media artistic practice and places the focus on the expression and action of the body/performance-based working methods. The field of teaching tends to approach Performance from the context of art rather than theater. Activist practices and interventions in the public space may also play a role in the field of teaching.

Job description

Duties will include artistic and experimental teaching and supervising students during their Foundation and Main Course through to their Diplom examination, as well as supervising the artistic part of doctoral theses in the Doctoral Program. It is taken as a given that interfaces will be formed to other artistic, creative as well as theoretical and scientific subjects taught at the University. Active involvement in the University’s autonomous committees and collaboration with the Hessische Theaterakademie is expected.

Qualifications

Generally speaking, you must have completed a university course of education, have outstanding artistic achievements and several years of practice in the said fields combined with excellent teaching skills. The full-time position entails 18 weekly contact hours and is a tenure-track appointment with a probationary period of six years, after which, following successful evaluation, it could be converted to full tenure.
